What makes the Park Unique?

Delamere Forest Park, is the largest wooded forest in the Cheshire Plain of United Kingdom. Therefore you can bet of its coolest provided by the shades of the trees even during a sun-baking summer. Being a wooded forest, it hosts several species of wildlife which can be seen as one tour the forest park.

Surrounding the park are stunning sceneries of agricultural landscapes which too form part of the adventure for visitors to the park. Every hiker will definitely enjoy the smooth surface and gentle slopes at the park from the start trail at Barnsbridge Gates and deep into the park.

And then there is the Blakemere Moss restoration Project. The project completed in 2012 with the partnership efforts of Habitats and Hillforts working with the Natural England and Forestry Commission and the Cheshire Wildlife Trust undertook to restore at least 29 hectares of mere and moss habitat which was destroyed in 1815 when prisoners of the Napoleonic wars drained the mere who dug draining ditches and an exit channel.

The restoration of the peatland now forms one of the heritages of Cheshire which attracts many visitors to sight-see as well as get educated.

Other than hiking, biking or sight-seeing, the forest park is also home to different species of wildlife such as the southern hawker dragon, green woodpecker, greater spotted woodpecker, tortoiseshell butterfly, siskin and the white faced darter dragonfly.

In this vast woodland forest, you could also juts decide to adventure with friends and family as you learn or partake other activities which are authorized in the park. One other amazing activity to do there is ‘Go-aping’.
